Foreign Minister discusses ongoing cooperation and electoral assistance with US and EU top Envoys

On 21 October 2019, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Honourable Karen Cummings, met separately with United States Ambassador to the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, Her Excellency Sarah-Ann Lynch, as well as with the Ambassador of the European Union, His Excellency Fernando Ponz Cantó.

The parties discussed ongoing cooperation and electoral assistance.

Highlighting the importance of the upcoming general elections scheduled for March 2020, Dr. Cummings gave the reassurance that the Guyana Government would remain impartial while allowing the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) to finalize preparations.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Lynch gave her reassurance that all ongoing projects in Guyana funded by the United States would continue to be implemented as planned.
