1. Nationals of the countries at List 1 (click here) do not require Visas to enter Guyana for tourism purposes ONLY!

  2. Nationals from countries with risk of yellow fever transmission should either present the International Yellow Fever Vaccination Card with the Application or ensure that they are vaccinated ten (10) days prior to their arrival in Guyana and have their cards to show at the Port of Entry. Such countries are on (Annex 1) Failure to provide proof of vaccination at the Port of Entry will result in denial of Entry.

  3. There is no guarantee that a Visa would be issued and therefore any preparation or plan made for the journey would be done at the Applicant’s own risk.

  4. Under normal conditions, Applications for Visas should be submitted at least one (1) month in advance of the proposed date of entry into Guyana.

  5. Applicants submitting Visa Applications by post are required to submit with their applications, a registered self-addressed envelope for the return of the documents. It is important that return addresses are stated clearly.

  6. Travelers must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Fully vaccinated means 2 doses of the 2-dose vaccine regime or 1 dose of the 1 dose regime, for example the J&J vaccine.
  7. Certified English translations of all documents in foreign languages are required.

  8. If an applicant is desirous of extending his/her stay while in Guyana upon expiry of the Visa issued by the Embassy, then applications for Extension of Stay should be submitted to Head, Immigration Support Services, Department of Citizenship and Immigration, Ministry of Home Affairs, Charlotte Street and Shiv Chanderpaul Drive, Georgetown, Guyana; Telephone #: +(+592 223-7867, +592 223-5210).
